Marvin Heskett was raised with sustainability at the heart of family life. He is currently a practicing environmental consultant and an environmental chemist. Marvin received a B.S. in biochemistry from California Polytechnic San Luis Obispo and has worked as a mass spec. chemist, quality assurance officer, and laboratory director prior to taking on the role of a consultant. As a consultant he has worked with the State of Hawaii Department of Health in innovating novel approaches to solving environmental problems throughout the Pacific Region. Marvin has worked with the state of Hawaii Clean Water Branch to secure funding for their BEACH monitoring program and has been a stormwater practitioner for over 10 years.

Nick Wood is a Senior Environmental Engineer and Civil P.E. in Stantec’s Honolulu office. He has a bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Montana State University – Bozeman and 19 years of engineering and consulting experience with 15 years in Honolulu. Nick has specialized in project management on environmental site assessment and remediation sites for both commercial and federal clients in Hawaii, Alaska, and the West Coast. If it is a contaminated site, he’s investigated it, designed remediation equipment, done the permitting and stamped the drawings, managed the construction, operated and optimized the system, managed the budget, and achieved regulatory closure at numerous sites. Nick has maintained HAZWOPER 40-hr certification since 2006 and his contaminated site experience has included PFAS, petroleum hydrocarbons, metals, asbestos, arsenic, chlorinated solvents, dioxins/furans, PCBs, and hexavalent chromium (that Julia Roberts movie…). When Nick is outside the office, he enjoys beaches, hiking, house projects, inter-island travel and exploring, brewing beer or hard cider, playing disc golf, and finding foodie places to eat.

Ms. Cordero has been in the environmental industry for over 20 years. She began her career in industrial hygiene, progressed into environmental investigations, remediation/restoration, environmental compliance, environmental planning/permitting, and has conducted environmental due diligence for various business needs.
