Hear from Megan McElligott, a doctoral candidate in the Marine Biology Graduate Program at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa, as she shares how underwater acoustic recordings are used to monitor when and where spinner dolphins rest during the day around O‘ahu, Maui Nui, and Hawai‘i Island. Her research supports wildlife managers in identifying critical daytime habitats and tracking how human activity may be impacting dolphin behavior and habitat use over time.
